Tec CDMX
Tecnológico de Monterrey, with an extraordinary and continuously expanding influence across the spectrum of Mexican education, is poised to become a leader in stimulating urban and eco- nomic regeneration and prove the power of Latin American universities as engines of innovation and entrepreneurship.
In response to this vision, the 2014 Master Plan es- tablishes the framework for the long-term evolution of the campus and the regeneration of the com- munities surrounding the university into a lively, attractive, dynamic, and integrated district, while creating an environment that will attract significant research and development investment. Much of this work became the foundation for the The Tec’s 2030 Vision, articulating a compelling transforma- tion of the university’s pedagogical model and its role within Mexican society.
The Tec 21 Pedagogical Model, is a direct response to the emergence of new ways of learning, and the prominence of digital tools in education. A core aspect of the
model is the development of a pedagogical structure that contributes to the formation of extraordinary professionals with a deep commitment to society, rooted in a human- itarian world view and with a keen appreci- ation of interdisciplinary and collaborative learning.
Driving Forces
The 2030 Vision for the Tecnológico de Monter- rey establishes a bold path for the evolution of one of Latin America’s most respected academ- ic institutions. This vision creates a new para- digm for the Tec, rethinking its role in Mexican society with a focus on Leadership, Innovation
+ Entrepreneurship and a renewed attention to Human Flourishing.
The 2030 Vision requires a holistic approach de- velop Tec students into future leaders, one that encompasses the mind, body and the spirit.
Urban Design Strategy
The Framework introduces a new flow in the Distrito that moves through Avenida del Estado, across the historic Academic Core, connecting to the Tec sports fields in a park- like sweep. A series of pedestrian paths and carefully articulated public spaces blur the physical boundaries of the campus and con- nect the university to its urban context.
The most successful aspects of the current campus, such as the strong north-south pedes- trian armature and its associated landscape system, are maintained and reinforced.
